Are you an adventure seeker who longs for a better way to travel?

If so, you are in the right place!

I started this journey myself a few years ago as a way to make travel easier for my landscape photography habit. This website serves as an informative resource for those who are also interested in converting a van, purchasing one, or learning more about RV travel and the outdoor lifestyle.

I purchased an empty Ram Promaster cargo van and converted it into an incredible camper van that I use for my explorations across the United States.

Traveling in a camper van is an amazing experience that allows you to go anywhere you want. You can park nearly anywhere, set up camp, and enjoy all the amenities of home without having to worry about finding accommodations or dealing with crowds.

With a camper van, you have the freedom to explore wherever your heart desires, from mountains and forests to deserts and coastlines. What makes it even better is that everything you need for your journey – including sleeping quarters, kitchen facilities, storage space for food, supplies, and equipment – comes along with you as part of your vehicle!

Unlike other types of RVs, camper vans provide a comfortable living space in a small, drivable package. They are easy to maneuver, easy to park, fuel-efficient, and provide a fun way to explore the country (or world).

Camper Van Travel Has its Drawbacks

Traveling in a camper van is an amazing way to explore the world, but it’s important to be aware of some of the drawbacks too. This unique style of travel is often seen as romantic, but there are some practical considerations that should be taken into account before embarking on your journey.

It’s easy to get carried away with the idea of the freedom and adventure that van travel provides. I cover various downsides of the lifestyle that you may want to consider before jumping in.

Camper vans, by their very nature, are small and cramped which can make them uncomfortable for extended stays. It’s important to learn from others about what works and what doesn’t before committing to the lifestyle.

As van life has become more and more popular, finding places to park for the night has gotten more difficult. What used to be free parking opportunities have become more heavily monitored and it isn’t always easy to find places to stay on short notice. It takes proper planning and research to have a successful journey.

Considering Converting Your Own Van?

A DIY van conversion can be overwhelming. Trust me, I know the feeling! I nearly gave up on mine numerous times. It’s easy to underestimate the amount of work involved. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to van conversion and no best way to do anything. Instead, you will need to make it work the way you want it to work. We are all different and a layout that works for some may not work for others.

Besides the overwhelming amount of work involved, converting a van can cost a lot of money I learned the hard way by doing everything myself on my van. With a technical and woodworking background, I was able to overcome most challenges.

Hopefully, you can find some help along the way with the tutorials and recommendations I have put together.
